Astrid & Oli

Oli and Astrid’s favourite love story began on an 8 day 14 person tour of Croatia, back in July 2018. In many ways it was like a super long first date. Creating a bond during after dinner drinks, long bus rides, and chatting away at the back of the group.

One day as they all walked to the beach in Split , and Oli and Astrid’s hands kept brushing up against each other, so Astrid said "why don't we just hold hands?"

And their lives have never been the same since.

Fast forward to deciding to get married, trying to plan it all from the UK where they have been living. Luckily, for their Perth wedding venue they were able to secure Astrid's gorgeous family home in the Swan Valley, the Ferrari Homestead. And for their marriage celebrant Perth, luckily I got that honour. People often ask what the best part of being a Perth wedding celebrant is, and often my answer is standing there, between a couple, telling their story and watching them laugh, smile and look at each other deeply in love, gets me every time.

A genuinely happy and beautiful couple, it was a delight to be able to be a part of this Perth bespoke wedding. They were able to secure the incredible Perth wedding photographer James Simmons to capture their day. Somehow being able to secure some of Perth's most popular wedding vendors and suppliers wasn't that big a challenge for them even though they were organising everything from halfway across the world.

If you are wondering what a marriage celebrant costs in Perth, then if they are any good, the answer by a couple would be "priceless". Drawing the crowd in, engaging them and making them a part of the ceremony, yet at the same time keeping the focus completely on the couple, there is a definite skill involved, which after 800 weddings, I like to think I've mastered, but you are only as good as the material you get to work with, and lucky for me Astrid and Oli gave me plenty of lengthy answers to all my questions so I could craft them a personalised wedding ceremony.
